A former Rydal Penrhos pupil will captain the Welsh netball squad for an upcoming tour of South Africa.
Suzy Drane will lead the senior squad that are travelling to Durban on June 12 for a six-match series from June 17-19.
The tour will include three tests against the South African national side, and an U21 side will also join their senior compatriots for separate fixtures.
Head coach Trish Wilcox said: “This is an opportunity for us to measure ourselves against one of the top five teams in the world.
“What a fantastic chance for both teams to compete on the international stage and experience world class competition on an overseas tour.
“Both senior and U21 teams have had a very successful twelve months.
“The talent within the teams is exciting and we hope to build on momentum from these successes.”
The ex-Rydal Penrhos pupil will be part of the school’s coaching staff for a special tour of Greece next October, and Drane recently earned a silver medal at the Netball Europe Open Championships, with Wales defeating Scotland and Ireland, and losing to England in the final match for the gold medal.
“I’m very excited to be coming back to Rydal Penrhos, after all this is where it all began for me, only this time I will be part of the coaching team that is heading away with some talented young players,” she added.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to work with the staff and players, learning from them and hopefully passing on some of my knowledge and experiences I have gained since leaving.”
