Talented Preparatory School actors have been praised following a rousing annual production.

The Year 4 pupils at Rydal Penrhos thrilled crowds over two nights in a performance of their adaptation of Alice the Musical.

After months of rehearsal and research, the group finally took the stage for opening night on Tuesday, March 15, and their final performance took place the following night.

There were a number of notable performances throughout, including Anna Heyes’ portrayal of Alice, the girl who gets thrust into a magical wonderland.

The funny Will Rutherford played the role of the White Rabbit, while Hattie Maddocks produced a sensational effort in her role as the Duchess.

Villain of the piece was Gabriele Subkovaite, who played the Queen of Hearts, and James Gilman brought the Mad Hatter to life with a sensational effort.

To prepare for the musical, the pupils took a trip along the Alice Trail in Llandudno, where they got to learn more about the fairy tale, in addition to catching the eye with an outdoor rehearsal.

Prep School head Roger McDuff, said: “It really was a fantastic showing and everyone involved should be very proud of their efforts.

“You forget that these pupils are only young, such is the talent they possess, and our staff do a magnificent job of making them look fantastic with their makeup and costumes.

“They all deserve an enormous amount of credit and the performances really were a joy to behold.”
