Water Aid Day
14th May 2015

Bellan House Year 1 pupil, Betty Barr, saw an advert on television for the charity Water Aid  and wanted to do something to help.  So, with the support of pupils and staff at Bellan House, Oswestry School’s Preparatory Department, she arranged a Water Aid day at school.  Pupils wore something blue and as well as lots of learning activities in the classroom, the Year 6 pupils ran a number of water-based stalls and activities outside.  In assembly, pupils had an informative and inspirational talk about children who don't have clean water.  The day was a huge success, raising enough money to pay for 17 new wells.  Headteacher Karen Lentink said, "It is wonderful to see such a young pupil inspired to make a difference, and the support of all the other pupils and staff which made the day such a success."
