School stalwart retires
20th April 2015

After 25 years of loyal service, Oswestry School nurse, Enid Nunnerley has retired.  She worked as the school nurse for the last six years of her employment, but had originally joined as Matron for the boys' boarding house, Holbache in 1991.  She then transferred to be Matron at the girls' boarding house, Guinevere in 1996.  Enid approached her role as a matron not as a job but as her life, and she created such strong bonds with pupils that she is still in contact with many of them today.  Pupils appreciated her motherly nature and Houseparents knew they could rely on her for the highest standards.

Enid's connection with the school goes back even further, as she also attended Bellan House as a pupil.

While pupils and staff, past and present were sorry to see her go, she left with everyone's best wishes for a long and happy retirement and promises to return for regular visits.  Her final day saw a collection of friends and colleagues, past and present joining her in a toast, and her contribution to the school will be officially recognised at the annual Speech Day on 4th July.
