Loretto Hockey aces to represent Scotland at British Championships

Loretto School's boys' Under 11 Hockey teams won their age group at the recent I.A.P.S. (Independent Association of Preparatory School) Tournament hosted by Fettes College on Tuesday, 2nd February, finishing the tournament unbeaten.

The prestigious tournament attracts Scotland's most talented Hockey teams, all of whom battle it out every year in what proves to be a tournament displaying the highest standard of Hockey.

Loretto’s Under 11s team results were;

v Cargilfield - Drew ; 1-1 

v Fettes - Drew ; 1-1

v Craigclowan - Won ; 1-0

v Ardvreck - Won ; 6-0

v Belhaven - Drew ; 3-3


Mr Neil Allan, Director of Hockey at Loretto, commented, "This is a real feather in the boys' hat and we do congratulate them all. The Under 11 team showed real skill and tenacity. They will now go on to represent Scotland at the British I.A.P.S. Championships later this year."




The Loretto Under 13 team were also in action. However, despite remaining unbeaten in their age group, finished in second place. The Loretto Under 13 results were;

v Cargilfield - Drew ; 0-0

v Craigclowan - Drew ; 1-1

v Fettes - Won ; 1-0

v Ardvreck - Won; 3-0

v Belhaven - Won; 4-0
