Prior Park College Remembers the Fallen in Poignant Ceremony
16th December 2014

Remembrance Sunday Mass this year was celebrated with particular poignancy given the milestone of 100 years since the beginning of WW1. The College acknowledged this in a Mass at which the Headmaster spoke of the old boys who had given their lives for their country, and students delivered bidding prayers that remembered the various groups that make up the Armed Forces, both past and present. After Mass, prizes were awarded to local students who had won Prior Park's WW1 poetry and prose competition. The congregation then moved outside where the Headmaster planted a weeping copper beech tree, which was then blessed by Father Smeaton before everyone gathered in the Mansion for refreshments which included ANZAC biscuits.
