Letter to The Times
28th October 2014

It is always saddening to read of former pupils recounting the difficult time they faced at prep school. However as Tom Parker Bowles relates his own experiences were from a different era, worlds away from the prep school environment of today. The number one priority for all prep schools today is ensuring pupils get high quality pastoral care, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In my own visits to prep schools I meet dedicated, professional staff committed to doing a brilliant job for the children they look after. More importantly I regularly talk to youngsters who are clearly loving their prep school, having loads of fun and thoroughly enjoying the whole experience. I have no doubt that if Tom Parker Bowles were at prep school today his personal experience would be very different and much happier.
