Loretto School's Excellent GCSE Results
22nd September 2014

FOLLOWING on from the excellent A level results achieved on 14th August, Loretto School pupils have also excelled in this year’s GCSE examinations.

The overall A* - C rate was over 90% with an impressive 27% of pupils achieving A* - B grades in all their subjects.

Results were particularly strong in Mathematics, Separate Sciences, Modern Languages, Art and Geography, with a high number of A* grades.

Dr Graham Hawley, Headmaster, said, “It is immensely rewarding to see the fine array of results that this year’s cohort has achieved.  Their hard work has clearly paid off and, as ever, this is a great tribute to their dedication and that of the staff who teach them."

The 2013/14 academic year has had many highs, including a glowing Education Scotland inspection report and our announcement of the impending launch of the Loretto Golf Academy Indoor Centre to name just two. Both last week's A level and this week's GCSE results are a very fitting conclusion to an excellent year and a good sign for the future; Loretto School is in excellent heart.”
