The prospect of choosing a future career might seem a long way off for many twelve or thirteen-year-olds, however, at Bromsgrove Prep School, they firmly believe it is a great time for children to gain an insight into various professions and find out what qualifications and training they need to follow their dreams. Pupils eagerly chatted with over thirty exhibitors representing a wide range of careers at Vision 2020, recently held at the School.
The exhibitors, many of whom were former pupils and parents, were able to share their career experiences with the Year 7 and 8 pupils. The pupils really enjoyed the opportunity to ask questions and find out about a myriad of careers, including cyber security, digital marketing, medicine, surveying and manufacturing, to name but a few.
Pupils attended a number of workshops that focused on developing their skills and decision making.
Judith Holden, Deputy Head Academic at the Prep School said “Bromsgrove School is hoping to build on this experience in the future, as well as host local schools at these events”
