After winning the 'Head for the Day' prize at Abingdon Prep's Christmas Bazaar, 11 year old Philip Scott took up the reins for his big day on Monday 1 July and quickly appointed his younger brother, Alex aged 6, as his Deputy. The boys who are from Didcot in Oxfordshire welcomed their peers and parents into school very formally and even picked up on a few untucked shirts. Philip gave a terrific assembly on his team Greece, and their 2004 victory in the European Championships and related it brilliantly to not giving up on a dream. He then announced that lunch break had been extended by10 minutes as a treat.
Philip and his predecessor, Headmaster Craig Williams, then toured the school to see what the boys were learning in their lessons. Lunch saw Philip's choice of iced chocolate donuts being a very popular option and Philip and Alex then went out on duty, getting the boys quiet when lining up and dismissing them back to class.
Speaking about the experience Craig Williams said, "It was a great day and both boys have bright futures in education ahead of them should they wish to follow that path!"
