Bromsgrove Pre-Preparatory and Preparatory Schools joined schools across the UK on Friday 1st February for the NSPCC’s maths-inspired fundraising day.
All children from Pre-School to Year 4 were resplendent in their bright, colourful number-themed clothing. A fantastic day was had by all, with pupils enjoying a variety of different mathematical activities.
Pupils from Year 2 and Year 3 shared a wonderful morning together at the Prep School. They wrapped up warm and braved the cold weather to complete an outdoor maths trail around the grounds, with Year 3 pupils acting as fantastic tour guides for their Year 2 friends. Together they solved many mathematical challenges and puzzles. They also had great fun working in pairs to create and solve Tangram puzzles, making a range of fantastic animal pictures.
The children especially enjoyed an exciting and energetic number-based dance workshop with Rebecca from DanceEquation, which involved stomping the times-tables, making number digits with their bodies and performing physical calculations.
The combined total for the Pre-Prep and Prep Schools was £543.76.
