This interactive and relaxed seminar is an opportunity to discuss the legal requirements to ensure your school is adhering to the statutory duties regarding the inclusion of gender, gender identity and sexual orientation. The session should be interactive, providing an opportunity to as questions, share information and good practice.
Specifically relating to the Equality Act 2010, the National Minimum Standards for Boarding, UK law and school policies, the session will demonstrate how to implement these policies in a boarding context and around the classroom.

This seminar will underpin and enhance your current equality strategy and help develop a framework where all staff and pupils can feel:

  • EMPOWERED to address the social injustices that exist
  • KNOWLEDGEABLE on current legal developments and best practice
  • REASSURED to provide a safe space for open discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity
  • CONFIDENT to have perceived difficult conversations
  • SUPPORTED through the change process.
