Why should you attend?
This seminar will provide an opportunity for delegates to review current practice, understand lessons learned from previous inspections and gain an understanding of how to evaluate practice against the Ofsted SCCIF (Social Care Common Inspection Framework).
The speaker will help delegates understand how to efficiently prepare for a boarding inspection, paying close attention to update in current legislation and how this will impact procedures already in place. The workshop will provide an overview of safeguarding standards, the inspection process and explore self-evaluation and evidence gathering.

Speaker: Dale Wilkins, Head of Safeguarding and Standards, BSA
Dale completed over 30 years as a boarding practitioner before joining BSA permanently in September 2017. Dale began his career as a boarding tutor at Norwich School, ran a junior girls' house with his wife at Tettenhall College, and then moved to Old Swinford Hospital in Stourbridge, where he spent 25 years as Housemaster in both senior and junior boys' houses, as Director of Boarding and then as Deputy Head and Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Dale has also been a course tutor and trainer for the BSA for almost twenty years, was a sector professional inspector under NCSC, CSCI and Ofsted, and a trainer for the local safeguarding board.
