Presenter: Julie Wilkinson (BSC (Hons) Sociology)
Julie has over 20 years’ experience regarding intervention and prevention of vulnerable families in the UK. After training as a Domestic Violence Crisis Counsellor in New York for Brooklyn Criminal Court and Sanctuary for Families in the South Bronx, she returned to London and became a qualified mediator for CALM.
She then moved into the youth offending world, coordinating Youth Inclusion Projects (YIPS) on behalf of Crime Concern, with large staff teams providing outreach services to prolific young offenders, then progressed to oversee Lambeth Youth Council, providing strategic and operational co-ordination of all young people’s services across the Borough including Peer Inspection, Peer Education and Youth Parliament
After achieving a South Bank University ‘Certificate in Teaching Practice’ and spearheading the NCB’s Peer Inspection Programme, she became Kidscape’s Bullying Intervention Training Co-ordinator (BIT) for England and Regional Trainer for London and the South East.
Brave the Rage now provides strategic, senior level consultancy and delivery of interactive and creative education-based workshops for UK and Overseas to professionals, parents, children and young people.
