Why should you attend?
New GAP students will be integrated into the heart of boarding provision in a supervisory role very soon after leaving the student body of their own secondary education.
This seminar will focus heavily on the expectations of the schools they are working in and offer strategies and tools to manage this transition from pupil to member of staff effectively. The day will explore boundaries and expectations through case studies and practical exercises.

Speaker: Dale Wilkins, BSA Head of Safeguarding and Standards
Dale completed over 30 years as a boarding practitioner before joining BSA permanently in September 2017. Dale began his career as a boarding tutor at Norwich School, ran a junior girls' house with his wife at Tettenhall College, and then moved to Old Swinford Hospital in Stourbridge, where he spent 25 years as Housemaster in both senior and junior boys' houses, as Director of Boarding and then as Deputy Head and Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Dale has also been a course tutor and trainer for the BSA for almost twenty years, was a sector professional inspector under NCSC, CSCI and Ofsted, and a trainer for the local safeguarding board.
