NAPAC half day seminar
May 14, 2018, 13:30 - 17:00.
BSA has arranged training with NAPAC (National Association for People Abused in Childhood) to assist staff in schools who receive disclosures from survivors of abuse in boarding schools. Knowing how to respond appropriately to such calls and emails is essential, not just for the staff having to do so, but particularly for the welfare and well-being of the survivor. The training will include:
- Gaining awareness of how survivors of abuse experience themselves, others and the world
- Recognising the impact of abuse on the brain and body (thoughts, feelings, behaviours)
- Recognising and mitigating triggers and stress reactions and protect survivors from retraumatisation
- Communicating and working collaboratively with adult survivors to achieve effective outcomes.
BSA members and non-members are welcome to join. Cost: £125
Venue: DLD College London, 199 Westminster Bridge Road, London, SE1 7FX.
